The Muslim community in the West faces a unique and difficult challenge of creating a space for the average Muslim teenager and young adult to feel fulfilled and confident in his faith. While many organizations have targeted different problems facing our community, this problem remains largely unaddressed. The Madani Youth model is a comprehensive program built on years of experience, growth, and scholarship to provide the best solution to this rising problem. Our goal is to see this model implemented in every masjid in New York City, and eventually, the whole Western world, reinstating a love for deen and an attachment to the masajid among the youth in every community.
Madani Youth’s models do not directly intervene in communities. Our model is designed to help each community grow independently, through assistance and collaboration. Because of this, implementation of the Madani Youth model begins with building up the right team and framework in each community. Madani Youth provides all the resources and a strong network to help each community grow. However, this model will only work if implemented correctly by the individuals who represent each community.
Madani Youth does not force anyone to join our program; we are more than happy to help at a surface level without commitment. However, some of the benefits we offer are reserved for those communities willing to join our program completely. This is a mutually beneficial relationship in order to build Madani Youth and the local community.
Those who decide to join will be asked to use Madani branding on their programs and fliers. Additionally, we do not participate in nor endorse any form of political debate or community affairs. Our desire is to simply engage with the youth group.
In return, these groups will receive access to our Halaqah topics, our network of scholars, and our efforts in building, growing, and expanding their youth group.
We will not be able to provide any form of budget and request local communities to work with their youth groups for that.
Any location that chooses to open its own branch of Madani Youth will be asked to make mashwara with the Director of Madani Youth on a weekly basis. This is done for the purpose of feedback, follow-up, and growth. All groups will be required to have a meeting with the Director once a week in order to ensure that we have a good understanding of how the program is running and what areas to target for growth.
Each branch should be making their own mashwara at least once a week before reporting to the Director. This is ideally done after every halaqah but can be done whenever is convenient.
Madani Youth executives will be visiting each branch on a rotating basis in order to help further run the halaqah and monitor what can be done to improve. This will build a good framework for communities to flourish.
