Madani Academy was inspired by the legacy of Shaykhul Islam Sayyid Husain Ahmad Madani (rahimahullah). One of Shaykh Madani’s dreams and visions was to establish Islamic centers of knowledge throughout the world, which would engage not just the religious, but the general public as well. Of his many feats, he would encourage and take part in the establishment of makatib, madaris, Islamic schools, and seminaries.
Continuing this noble legacy, his son, Amirul Hind Shaykh Asad Madani (rahimahullah), furthered these efforts. Our founder, Hazrat Professor Maulana Muhibbur Rahman (damat barakatuhum), a pioneer of Islamic education in North America, sought to bring this vision to the United States at a time when there were few scholars, madaris, or structured makatib. Under Shaykh Asad Madani’s guidance, he helped establish numerous communities and laid the groundwork for many of the masajid, madaris, and makatib we see today.
