The course will begin with a holistic introduction to the science of fiqh, its historic development, and the monumental impact of early fuqaha on subsequent Islamic scholarship. Thereafter, sessions will provide explanations of rulings in relation to purification, prayer, fasting, almsgiving, and pilgrimage, in a manner conducive to the condensed nature of the course. Ultimately, students will develop a basic understanding of Islamic rulings to aid them in perfecting their personal worship and will appreciate the significance of following canonized jurisprudence.
