A two-year weekend program to learn the fundamentals of Deen from traditional Islamic scholarship

The Quba Intensive Program at Madani Academy offers a comprehensive Islamic education designed to deepen understanding and practice of the Islamic faith. At Quba Intensive, our goal is to provide a holistic and enriching Islamic educational experience.

  • The Quba intensive is an introduction to deen for everyone who has a desire to start their pursuit of knowledge. Madani Academy accommodates the busy schedules of young adults, university students, and working professionals.
  • The Quba intensive serves as a way for people to learn their fundamentals as well as a gateway to pursue in-depth Islamic studies. Students will be introduced to core subjects of the Islamic paradigm and will develop a rudimentary level of Islamic literacy
  • We offer a well-rounded and comprehensive curriculum covering all the basics of deen, including tajweed, Arabic, fiqh, aqeedah, and tazkiyah.

AQD-203 (2 Credit Hours)

The Celestial Creed II: A Continued Study of Islamic Theology

Building on AQD 103, this course delves further into Islamic theology with a focus on eschatology, the lives and significance of the Sahabah (companions of the Prophet), and the signs of the Hour. Students will also explore contemporary isms such as liberalism, modernism, feminism, and atheism, and their impact on Muslim beliefs. Through critical engagement with these topics, students will be equipped to defend their faith and understand the relevance of classical theological principles in the modern world.

HAD -203 (2 Credit Hours)

The Fundamentals of Deen: A Study of the Arba’in of Imam Al-Nawawi

This course offers a comprehensive study of the Arba’in (Forty Hadith) of Imam Al-Nawawi, a foundational text in Islamic scholarship. Students will delve into each hadith, exploring its context, significance, and practical applications. The course will emphasize the ethical and spiritual dimensions of the hadith, guiding students toward a deeper understanding and implementation of the prophetic teachings in their daily lives. Engaging discussions and reflections will foster a profound appreciation of the Sunnah and its role in shaping a Muslim’s character and actions.

FQH-203 (2 Credit Hours)

Living Muslim: The Fiqh of Marriage, Business, and Society

Following FQH 103, this course focuses on the jurisprudential rulings related to marriage, divorce, and financial transactions. Students will learn from a range of classical texts and discuss contemporary issues, gaining insights into the application of Islamic law in personal and social contexts. Topics will include the rights and responsibilities within marriage, the ethics of divorce, and the principles of Islamic finance. Through case studies and practical examples, students will learn to navigate the complexities of living a Sharia-compliant life in the modern world.

As a supplement to the book, various engaging workshops will be presented by guest scholars throughout the year.

TFS-203 (1.5 Credit Hours)

Sciences of the Quran & Tafsir of Short Surahs

This course offers an in-depth exploration of the sciences of the Quran (‘Ulum al-Quran), covering topics such as the Quran’s revelation, compilation, and preservation. Special attention will be given to the tafsir of short surahs frequently recited in prayers. By the end of the course, students will have a deeper appreciation of the Quran’s divine nature and its practical guidance for daily life.

TRTL-203 (1.5 Credit Hours)

With Measured Tone II: Surah Dhuha to Surah Humaza

Continuing from TRTL 103, this course delves deeper into the art of Quranic recitation. Focusing on Surah Dhuha through Surah Humaza, students will refine their understanding of makharij (articulation points) and sifat (qualities) of letters. The curriculum includes both theoretical lessons and practical sessions to ensure mastery of tajweed rules. Personalized instruction will be provided to help each student achieve itqan (perfection) in their recitation. The aim is to cultivate a profound connection with the Quran through precise and melodious recitation.

TZK-203 (1.5 Credit Hours)

Traversing the Spiritual Path II: Reformation of the Soul

Building on TZK 103, this course continues the journey of spiritual development, focusing on the reformation of the soul. Students will delve deeper into the teachings of Imam Abu Hamid al-Ghazali and other luminaries in Islamic spirituality. Topics will include advanced practices of dhikr, self-accountability (muhasabah), and the purification of the heart from various spiritual ailments. Through practical exercises and guided reflections, students will cultivate a closer relationship with Allah ï·», striving for excellence in both worship and character.
