Shaykh Shakeelur Rahman Miah was born and raised in the Lower East Side of Manhattan, NY. After finishing his high school degree at Millennium High School, he went on to study the Islamic sciences at Darul Quran Wasunnah, an Islamic Seminary located in New York. He completed the ‘Ālimiyyah (Master’s in Islamic Studies) course under the tutelage of renowned scholars such as Mufti Ruhul Amin and Mufti Noman Vazir (may Allah preserve them).
Alongside his Islamic Studies degree, he finished his BA in Psychology at the City College of New York. During that time, he completed his memorization of the Qur’ān. Shaykh Shakeelur Rahman has been giving khutbahs or Friday sermons for over 9 years, as well as delivering talks and youth programs on Islam throughout New York and Long Island.
Currently, he holds the position of Imām/religious leader of the Islamic Center of Burlington and resides in the town of Burlington, MA.
